Product Description

A vertical kiln built around combustion control

Double beam active lime kiln equipment arrangement

2

Combustion levels

AGICO's double beam active lime kiln converts limestone into quicklime in a stationary shaft, with upper and lower beams distributing heat through the material bed.

5

Process zones

Limestone moves through storage, preheating, calcination, post-calcination, and cooling zones.

100–600

t/d capacity

A capacity range of 100–600 t/d serves industrial projects with different daily lime requirements.

Working Process

Following limestone through the kiln

The internal process comprises storage, preheating, calcination, post-calcination, and cooling. Limestone moves down through these zones while the combustion and exhaust systems manage heat transfer. The beam arrangement provides separate points for supplying fuel and controlling the firing conditions.

Discharge, air supply, and exhaust extraction need to work together. Changes to one part of the process can affect the material bed and the conditions elsewhere in the shaft. Operating records should therefore connect feed rate and discharge rate with temperature, pressure, fuel flow, and finished-lime test results.

Product Advantages

Four priorities for industrial lime production

Heat distribution across the material bed

AGICO's upper and lower combustion beams place fuel delivery at different levels, giving operators a practical basis for managing the firing zone.

Fuel selection around the plant supply

AGICO's combustion configuration can accommodate different fuel arrangements. Matching the burner system to the available supply is part of the equipment selection process.

Heat recovery within the process

AGICO's kiln uses preheating and cooling stages to recover useful heat within the production route, reducing the need to treat these stages as separate duties.

A stationary vertical equipment layout

AGICO's shaft arrangement keeps the material path vertical. Access to combustion equipment, refractory areas, and discharge components should be included in the plant layout.

Project Requirements

Define the product before sizing the plant

Lime quality and daily demand

Send AGICO the intended use of the quicklime and the quality tests used by your operation. For a steel plant, for example, procurement and process teams should agree on acceptance criteria before comparing kiln proposals. A useful enquiry explains both the average demand and how that demand changes during the working week.

Limestone supply and preparation

The limestone information should include chemical analysis, size distribution, moisture, and the expected supply route. Screening and handling arrangements matter because the kiln receives the material produced by the upstream system. Include the proportion of fines and any known variation between quarry benches or suppliers in the enquiry package.

Fuel quality and continuity

Fuel information should cover composition, heating value, pressure, and supply continuity. Where more than one fuel is available, describe the intended operating combination and the conditions under which a change would be required. This gives the engineering discussion a clear basis instead of treating every listed fuel as an interchangeable input.

Site layout and operating schedule

Define the operating schedule, storage capacity, and route from kiln discharge to the consuming process. These interfaces help connect daily lime demand with the plant layout.

Bring the product, limestone, fuel, and site information together so AGICO can discuss the kiln and supporting equipment as one production system.

FAQ

What should I include in a quotation request?

Send AGICO your target daily output, limestone analysis, available fuels, product quality requirements, and site information. Identify the equipment you already have so the proposal can address the required supply scope.

How should we compare lime activity figures?

Give AGICO the test method used by your laboratory, together with sample preparation and reporting conditions. Comparing results obtained using the same procedure makes the purchasing discussion more useful than comparing isolated activity numbers.

What needs attention when replacing an existing kiln?

Provide AGICO with drawings of the existing feed, discharge, gas, electrical, and dust collection interfaces. Include access restrictions and the planned shutdown window so the replacement can be discussed as an integrated plant modification.

Which maintenance questions should we raise before ordering?

Ask AGICO about inspection access, combustion beam cooling arrangements, refractory maintenance, and the proposed spare parts list. Identify the maintenance skills and utilities available at your site when reviewing the equipment scope.
