Product Description

A vertical kiln built around continuous material flow

AGICO vertical shaft kiln is a stationary clinker-burning unit for cement production. Prepared raw meal enters at the top and moves downward through the shaft, while air travels upward through the material bed. The kiln combines preheating, burning and cooling in a vertical body. Mechanized feeding and discharge support continuous operation in a properly matched production line.

Choosing a kiln starts with the material route. A cement project needs coordinated raw meal preparation, fuel addition, pellet formation and clinker handling. AGICO CEMENT offers a published kiln range of 12–35 t/h, with different shaft sizes and motor ratings. Selecting a size also means checking how the kiln connects to the equipment before and after it.

Product Advantages

Countercurrent heat exchange within the shaft

AGICO's vertical kiln brings rising air into contact with descending hot clinker, transferring heat to combustion air before it reaches the burning zone.

Compact arrangement of thermal zones

The vertical kiln of AGICO CEMENT places successive thermal stages within an upright body, helping organize equipment where horizontal kiln space is limited.

Mechanical feeding and clinker discharge

AGICO's mechanized shaft kiln coordinates material entry and withdrawal for continuous production, linking kiln operation with upstream preparation and downstream conveying.

A range of matched kiln sizes

AGICO's shaft kiln range pairs each published size with a capacity band and motor rating, giving buyers a practical starting point for equipment selection.

Four design functions inside the shaft

AGICO's mechanical cement kiln combines feed handling, a refractory-lined body, countercurrent heat exchange and continuous discharge.

01/

Feed distribution. Prepared nodules enter at the crown. Their distribution across the bed influences gas passage and uniform heating.

02/

Refractory-lined shaft. The stationary shell encloses the thermal process; refractory layers separate the hot material bed from the outer casing.

03/

Countercurrent thermal zones. Descending material passes through preheating, burning and cooling while air and hot gases move upward.

04/

Air supply and discharge. The lower air inlet and mechanical discharge work together with the feed rate to sustain bed movement.

1

Prepare and nodulize: Blend raw meal with fuel and form nodules before charging the kiln.

2

Charge and preheat: Distribute nodules at the top; rising gases dry and preheat the feed.

3

Burn to form clinker: Fuel combustion supplies heat for the clinker-forming reactions in the burning zone.

4

Cool within the shaft: Incoming air removes heat from descending clinker and warms before reaching the combustion region.

5

Discharge and convey: Mechanical withdrawal releases clinker from the bottom to the downstream conveyor.

Selection Guide

Check the feed before selecting the shaft

Begin the equipment enquiry with the raw meal composition, preparation method and intended clinker output. For a cement shaft kiln, the feed is prepared as nodules containing raw meal and fuel. Discuss how these nodules will be formed and delivered to the kiln crown. An equipment comparison is more useful when every proposed kiln is evaluated against the same feed conditions.

Review airflow and discharge together

Material movement and air movement share the same shaft. When planning a new line or replacing an existing kiln, include the available fan information, discharge arrangement and clinker transport route in the enquiry. For an existing installation, operating records and photographs of these connections help describe the actual task more clearly than a capacity figure alone.

Project Planning

Map the kiln interfaces early

Prepare a simple list of the equipment connected to the kiln: feed preparation and delivery, air supply, exhaust handling, clinker discharge and conveying. Add the available building height, access routes and existing equipment positions. This gives the enquiry a clear scope and helps separate a kiln replacement from a complete production-line project.

For procurement, identify which drawings, equipment data and supply items your team needs to compare. Keep the requested kiln duty and plant production target in separate fields so that every supplier is responding to the same equipment boundary.

  • Feed route: Crown elevation, feed delivery and upstream preparation.

  • Air and exhaust: Fan connection, duct routing and exhaust handling.

  • Discharge route: Withdrawal equipment and clinker conveying connections.

  • Site access: Building height, service platforms and maintenance routes.

FAQ

What information should I send with a vertical shaft kiln enquiry?

Send AGICO your target clinker output, raw meal information, fuel details and proposed site layout. For a replacement project, add the existing kiln dimensions, equipment list and the operating problem you want to address. These inputs make the initial equipment discussion more specific.

Does the motor rating represent total plant electricity demand?

The table lists the kiln motor rating. When discussing a complete installation with AGICO, request a separate equipment and electrical-load schedule covering the fan, feed preparation, conveying and other auxiliaries included in the project scope.

Can I use the same selection table for a lime kiln?

This table covers cement shaft kiln sizes. For a lime project, send AGICO the limestone information and intended lime output so the discussion can follow the relevant kiln design and material route.

How can I prepare a useful quotation comparison?

Give AGICO a consistent enquiry package and ask each supplier to identify the equipment, drawings and services included. Compare the kiln duty, interfaces and supply boundary alongside the price, rather than treating quotations with different scopes as equivalent.
