Product Description

A Lime Kiln Selected Around Your Stone
AGICO Vertical Shaft Lime Kiln produces quicklime from sized limestone in a stationary vertical vessel. Its suitability starts with the stone available to your plant and the lime required by your customers. Specify the feed analysis, size distribution and daily production target together, rather than choosing a kiln from output alone. AGICO's published vertical lime kiln range covers 80–400 t/d, with effective kiln volumes of 100–500 m³. Charging equipment, the kiln, product discharge and gas cleaning form a connected production system.
Selection Priorities
Define the Product Before the Equipment
Limestone supply
Provide representative chemical analyses and a screen analysis covering normal deliveries. Record changes between quarry benches, moisture conditions and the amount of undersize material reaching the plant.
Quicklime requirements
State the intended use, required CaO content, activity test method and acceptable product size. A steelworks purchasing flux and a processor supplying hydrated lime may evaluate the finished material differently.
Fuel and plant interfaces
Submit the available fuel analysis, electricity supply and site drawing. Identify the connection points for stone receiving, finished-lime storage and dust handling before the equipment arrangement is developed.
Product Advantages
Coordinated Feeding and Process Control
AGICO's material-handling arrangement connects storage, weighing and charging, giving operators a defined route from prepared stone to the kiln.
Mechanized Charging and Lime Removal
AGICO's vertical kiln equipment combines mechanized feeding and discharge to support continuous material movement through the production line.
Monitoring Across the Production Cycle
The centralized control system of AGICO CEMENT coordinates feeding, kiln operation and lime removal, helping operators follow changes across the process.
Engineering Beyond the Kiln Shell
AGICO's project support covers engineering design, equipment manufacture, installation, commissioning and operator training, with the work scope established for each project.
Working Process

Follow the Stone Through the Shaft
Prepare and charge
Screened limestone is metered and delivered to the kiln top. The charging and fuel arrangements are selected together for the proposed process.
Preheat and calcine
Descending stone exchanges heat with rising gas. In the calcining zone, limestone releases carbon dioxide and forms quicklime. Feed grading, heat input and material movement need coordinated control.
Cool and discharge
Air entering the lower kiln cools the lime before discharge and carries recovered heat upward. Product removal and downstream conveying complete the material route; exhaust gas is directed to the specified cleaning system.
Plant Planning
Leave Space for Operation and Maintenance
A vertical kiln concentrates the main thermal process in an upright vessel, but the surrounding plant still needs a practical layout.
Keep Equipment Access Clear
Show vehicle access, feed storage, lifting equipment, maintenance routes and lime dispatch on the site plan. Allow access to instruments, fans and discharge equipment without obstructing normal material handling.
Plan Existing Plant Interfaces
For an upgrade, identify which existing conveyors, silos and electrical systems will remain in service. AGICO can then define equipment interfaces and the installation sequence within the engineering scope.

FAQ
What should a useful kiln enquiry include?
Send AGICO the limestone and fuel analyses, required daily lime output, product quality targets and a site drawing. Include your current process if this is a replacement project. These details let the proposal address the whole material route rather than the kiln body alone.
How should we compare fuel-consumption figures?
Ask AGICO to compare figures on the same basis. Standard coal consumption is a normalized energy measure; it is not automatically the mass of your local fuel. Fuel heating value, moisture and the agreed production conditions belong in the comparison.
Can we retain our existing lime-handling equipment?
Provide AGICO with equipment drawings, operating capacities and the condition of the existing installation. Identify storage constraints and bottlenecks. The engineering review can then define which interfaces are suitable for reuse and which sections need a different arrangement.
What should be agreed for commissioning?
Discuss responsibilities with AGICO before installation begins: site readiness, utilities, initial stone and fuel supply, operating personnel, training and acceptance checks. Define how output, lime quality and energy use will be measured so that startup follows a clear project plan.
