Product Description

Vertical shaft kiln installation for continuous lime calcination

Vertical Calcination for Compact Lime Projects

AGICO Shaft Kiln is a stationary vertical kiln for continuous limestone calcination. Sized for 80–400 t/d lime projects, the system moves stone downward by gravity while hot gas rises through the material bed. This counter-current arrangement recovers heat through preheating, calcining, and cooling zones.

Product Advantages

Practical Control for Repeatable Trials

Four engineering priorities make laboratory results easier to compare and apply.

Heat Recovery in the Bed

AGICO's shaft kiln transfers heat between rising gas and descending stone to preheat feed and recover energy in the lower cooling zone.

Even Material Distribution

The AGICO distribution system spreads limestone and fuel across the shaft to support stable airflow and reduce local over-burning or under-burning.

Continuous Sealed Discharge

AGICO's regulated discharge removes calcined lime steadily while limiting false-air entry and coordinating product flow with kiln conditions.

Compact Vertical Layout

The kiln uses height rather than a long rotating shell, concentrating feeding, calcination, discharge, conveying, and gas treatment in a compact area.

Working Process

From Feed Preparation to Product Discharge

Screened limestone and selected fuel are weighed, distributed at the kiln top, heated through three thermal zones, and discharged continuously from the bottom.

Prepare and Meter

Screen limestone to the selected size range, remove excess fines, and meter stone and solid fuel for a stable burden.

Distribute the Charge

Lift the measured feed to the kiln top and spread it evenly across the shaft section.

Preheat and Calcine

Descending stone meets rising hot gas, passes through the preheating zone, and decomposes in the calcining zone.

Cool and Discharge

Incoming air cools the quicklime and becomes heated combustion air before the sealed discharger removes the product.

System Configuration

Combustion, Draft, and Thermal Protection

Fans, pressure control, refractory selection, and thermal-zone design are coordinated around limestone properties, fuel, and the required operating window.

Material Handling, Monitoring, and Discharge

Refractory materials for shaft kiln thermal zones

Feed distribution, level detection, process instruments, sealed discharge, conveying, and storage maintain stable downward movement and controlled product transfer.

FAQ

What raw-material information does AGICO need before sizing a shaft kiln?

+

-

AGICO needs limestone chemistry, strength, moisture, and size distribution, together with the required quicklime capacity, CaO level, activity, product size, fuel analysis, and local emission requirements.

How does a shaft kiln differ from a rotary kiln?

+

-

A shaft kiln is stationary and moves material downward by gravity through a vertical bed. A rotary kiln uses an inclined rotating shell. AGICO selects between them according to feed, capacity, product quality, fuel, and site conditions.

Can the kiln use fuel available in the buyer's region?

+

-

AGICO evaluates calorific value, ash, volatile matter, particle size, supply stability, and emission impact before confirming a fuel system. The cited TTHN arrangement is designed around coke or anthracite.

What equipment is included around the kiln body?

+

-

An AGICO project can include screening, weighing, lifting, distribution, combustion-air equipment, monitoring instruments, sealed discharge, conveying, storage, dust collection, and project-specific gas treatment.

What installation and commissioning support can be discussed?

+

-

AGICO can define engineering, installation guidance, commissioning, operator training, and spare-parts scope in the commercial proposal for the project site and contract.
