What is dry ball mill?

The dry ball mill from AGICO Cement is a specialized grinding machine made for materials that do not need water to grind. Unlike wet ball mills, this equipment runs entirely without water, depending only on the impact and friction between the raw material and grinding media, like steel balls. This makes it ideal for use in mineral processing and cement plants in arid or water-scarce areas.

Working Principle and Structure

The material is fed into the first chamber, which has stepped liners and large grinding balls for coarse grinding. The steel balls are lifted and dropped as the cylinder rotates, crushing the material through impact and abrasion. The partially ground material then moves to the second chamber, where finer grinding is done with smaller balls and a smooth lining. The dry ball mill is a horizontal cylindrical rotating device with two chambers divided by a partition board.

By ensuring that only the grinding media come into contact with the material, this closed system design helps to maintain the chemical and physical characteristics of materials that are heat or moisture sensitive.
