AGICO's Batching Plant Hopper is a vertical or inclined lifting device designed for concrete batching plants. It is mainly used to transport aggregates such as sand and stone from ground level to the mixer or storage bin efficiently and accurately. As one of AGICO's core products in the concrete equipment industry, this hopper system is made of high-strength wear-resistant steel. It has a compact structure and ensures long-term stable operation under extreme working conditions.

AGICO's Batching Plant Hopper is especially known for its modular design and international standard safety devices (such as dual limit switches and anti-fall mechanisms). It has been exported in volume to Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America. This hopper is suitable for small to medium concrete batching plants ranging from HZS25 to HZS75.

Products Specification

AGICO's Batching Plant Hopper consists of five main parts: the hopper body, heavy-duty rails, drive mechanism (motor + reducer + winch/wire rope), control system, and safety devices. Its core design features are the "spill-proof discharge structure" and "self-lubricating rail wheels," which effectively solve the problems of material spillage and rail jamming during lifting. The rails are made of hot-rolled U-channel steel or I-beam steel to prevent deformation over long-term use. The drive motor is a YE3 high-efficiency energy-saving motor, combined with an electromagnetic brake, providing fast response and accurate positioning.

AGICO batching plant hopper working process

Work process of batching plant hopper

1. Batching
In the batching stage, the AGICO Batching Plant Hopper receives aggregates automatically from the electronic batching scale after accurate weighing. This ensures correct material ratio for each batch.

2. Lifting
The control system starts the YE3 high-efficiency motor on the AGICO Batching Plant Hopper, which drives the winch and moves the hopper smoothly upward along the heavy-duty rails.

3. Discharging
When the AGICO Batching Plant Hopper reaches the top discharge position, its front wheels enter the discharge track. The hopper body tilts automatically or the discharge door opens, allowing aggregates to slide into the mixer with very little spillage.

4. Return
After discharging, the empty AGICO Batching Plant Hopper returns to the ground loading position either automatically or manually, ready for the next cycle. One complete cycle typically takes 60 to 90 seconds.

Space Cost Savings

The AGICO Batching Plant Hopper uses a vertical or high-angle rail lifting design. Its floor space is only 1/3 of a belt conveyor. It is especially suitable for batching plants with limited space, such as those in urban or mountain areas. Foundation construction costs are reduced by approximately 20%–30%.

Significant Power Savings

The AGICO Batching Plant Hopper consumes power only during the lifting stage. Power consumption per cycle is only 5.5–15 kW, while a belt conveyor must run continuously. For small to medium concrete production, daily power costs can be saved by 15%–25%.

Wear-Resistant Design

The hopper body of the AGICO Batching Plant Hopper is made of 6–10 mm wear-resistant steel. It can also be equipped with optional high-chromium cast iron liners or polyurethane linings. This makes it suitable for highly abrasive aggregates such as river pebbles and crushed stone.

High Adaptability

The AGICO Batching Plant Hopper can work with different brands of mixers. Lifting height and discharge angle can be customized on site (45°–60°). Control modes include manual, automatic, and remote. It has passed ISO and CE safety standards, meeting the acceptance requirements for overseas projects.

FAQ

Q: How to choose between the AGICO Batching Plant Hopper and a belt conveyor for a concrete batching plant?

A: If your plant's designed capacity is ≤75 m³/h, and site space is limited or the budget is tight, the AGICO Batching Plant Hopper is a more cost-effective choice. A belt conveyor is suitable for high-capacity continuous production of ≥120 m³/h. The AGICO hopper system requires 20%–40% less initial investment than a belt conveyor. Its energy consumption is concentrated in intermittent working cycles, making it more suitable for small to medium batch production with frequent product changes.

Q: How does AGICO solve the safety risk of wire rope breakage during long-term use of the lifting hopper?

A: The AGICO Batching Plant Hopper comes standard with triple protection: "dual independent wire rope lifting + mechanical fall arrester + electronic limit switch." The wire rope has a 6×37 anti-rotation construction, with a safety factor of ≥8 times the rated load. We also offer an optional automatic wire rope tension monitoring system. If abnormal elongation or wire breakage occurs on either side, the system immediately sounds an alarm and stops the lifting operation, preventing any "runaway hopper" accident.

Q: Can the AGICO Batching Plant Hopper handle highly abrasive or moist aggregates?

A: Yes. The AGICO Batching Plant Hopper can be fitted with replaceable wear liners inside the hopper (high-chromium cast iron or NM400 steel plate), extending wear life by 2 to 3 times. For aggregates with high moisture content or sticky materials, we offer anti-stick polyurethane liners and a curved hopper bottom design, which reduce material buildup and arching. The discharge residue rate can be controlled within 2%.

Q: Does AGICO provide non-standard customization services, for example for old plant retrofitting or projects with height restrictions?

A: Yes. With over 20 years of non-standard design experience, AGICO can provide customized solutions for scenarios such as limited plant height, uneven existing foundations, or the need to match non-standard mixer discharge openings. These include customized rail inclination (up to 70°), shorter hopper length, side-tipping discharge, or bottom-discharge structures. We also offer full-process services from site surveying and drawing design to installation guidance.
