The calcium aluminate rotary kiln is an essential piece of high-temperature calcination machinery designed especially for the production of calcium aluminate cement (CAC) and refractory materials. Calcium aluminate is an excellent raw material for calcining bauxite and limestone. Calcium aluminate's physical characteristics include its high melting point, high hardness, and lack of water absorption. It is commonly found in cement products and does not break down in storage or transit.
High-purity calcium aluminate clinker for the following uses can be produced by precisely calcining bauxite and limestone mixes in calcium aluminate rotary kilns at temperatures between 1300 and 1500°C: ①Castable refractory materials and asymmetrical linings,②Special cement (such corrosion-resistant or fast-setting cement),③Tundish and ladle coating.

Product operating principle
System Zones
- preheating tower: 2-4 step cyclone preheater (800-1100°C).
- combustion system: Multi-channel burner (automatic fuel/air ratio adjustment).
- cooling system: A grate cooler or rotary cooler (clinker discharge temperature <100°C).
- Emission control: SCR denitrification plus bag filter (dust <10 mg/Nm³)
Working process
Raw ore is supplied directly to the calcium aluminate rotary kiln. A conveyor belt, lock air valve system, and electronic belt scale send the raw materials to the kiln tail. The materials in the kiln flow against the direction of the high-temperature gas flow. Prior to reacting with the added reducing gas in the reduction zone at roughly 1000°C, they are first heated to 700–1000°C in the preheating zone.
Lastly, the water-cooled chain hopper transports it to the storage warehouse once it has been cooled in the cooling zone. With a processing capacity of 100–400 tons per day, the entire process achieves efficient production through careful control of the kiln speed (0.3–1.2 revolutions per minute) and temperature (950–1050°C in the reduction zone). Technical benefits include accurate temperature control, counter-flow heat exchange, and direct raw ore delivery.
